Dr. Navin Mann is a highly skilled bariatric and metabolic surgeon based in Kuala Lumpur, recognised as a leading consultant in the surgical management of obesity and metabolic disease. He is known for his commitment to clinical excellence and a patient-first approach that emphasises long-term outcomes.
In addition to his surgical practice at Damai Hospital and Cengild GI Medical Centre, Dr. Navin is the founder and clinical lead of Bariatric Surgery Malaysia—a dedicated platform that provides education, guidance, and community support for individuals considering or undergoing bariatric procedures. The platform offers structured resources on preoperative preparation, postoperative recovery, nutritional counselling, and lifestyle modification, while fostering a supportive environment that empowers patients throughout their weight loss journey.
Reflecting its growing impact, Bariatric Surgery Malaysia was recently awarded Bariatric Medical Centre of the Year in Asia Pacific 2025 by GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific, recognising its excellence in patient engagement, education, and multidisciplinary care.
Dr. Navin’s medical career began with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malaya, followed by a Master of Surgery from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He later pursued multiple international fellowships in Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery and Advanced Laparoscopy, including training at the Laparo-Obeso Centre (LOC) Healthcare in Pune, India—an ASMBS-accredited Centre of Excellence—and at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Laparoscopic General Surgery from the University of Strasbourg, France, and is certified in Minimal Access Surgery (IRCAD, France) and Integrated Care for Obesity (CICO), a program endorsed by IFSO and OSSI.
Clinically, Dr. Navin specialises in sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgery, with particular expertise in treating high-BMI patients (150–200+ kg). These complex cases demand a personalised, multidisciplinary strategy that combines surgical precision with long-term medical and nutritional support—principles that underpin his practice.
In the past year alone, Dr. Navin has successfully performed more than 300 bariatric procedures, treating patients from across Malaysia as well as from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.
Through his clinical expertise and leadership of Bariatric Surgery Malaysia, Dr. Navin continues to champion safe, evidence-based, and transformative obesity care, setting new benchmarks for bariatric excellence across the Asia Pacific region.
